England day1

Hello everyone!

As you might have already guessed, I, the one writing, am the member of the group in England. I'm Raquel, but here they call me Rachel, as it's easier to pronounce in English, but first things first.

Yesterday, we met at 9am at the airport of El Prat and at about eleven or eleven thirty, the flight began. We were on that plane for two hours or so and landed at 1pm or 12am here in England. We then had lunch there at the airport and took the train, in which we were for two more hours. This train took us to the port, where we got on the ferry, which -of course- took us to the Isle of Wight. We then walked 400 meters more or less until we met with a woman who took us to our hotel.
We then had dinner and went back to the hotel, hang out the five of us and watched a movie.

A simple but also tiring day.

Today though was very different. We woke up at 7am and met to have breakfast at 7:30. We then got picked up and taken to Sandown Bay Academy, where we met everyone and were shown around.
The students there have to wear a uniform, but the good thing is that girls can choose whether to wear pants or skirt. We also learned that they are out in classes, like instead of being put together people from the same year, they are put in a way that is like the ones born from the August of a year, until the ones born on July of the next one.
From my point of view, everyone was nice (boys and girls) and I personally felt comfortable with them and connected with some girls called Libby and Megan. We first talked on first term, which was Spanish (a little bit weird, as their Spanish level is more or less like our French level, maybe a little less) and was with them practically all day.

Also (if I hadn't said that yet), their schedule is way more different than ours, as they start at nine, have tutorial class (which is just to check that they are wearing their uniforms), then two classes, a half-hour brake, a class, lunch break and then two hours more. And we just have a simple one starting at eight, having three hours of class, half-hour brake and then three more hours.

Today we had dinner with the students we met at a pub nearby and right now we (the Spanish students) are in our hotel rooms just hanging out before going to sleep.

See you on our next post!

Eighth Week

Hello everyone!

This is our eighth week and we now know that there will be one of us going to Sandown (one of the other countries working on this Erasmus+ project) in the next days, and we will keep you up.

During these days she will be updating everyday telling you how it's going and the other ones staying here will update on Friday, just like we've been trying to do every week since we started.

Last day, though, we didn't do much. We just went over everything we had been doing on the last term. It wasn't really productive, but we fixed some things from the previous posts and make them better.

Remember that you will be living our experience in England with us!

See you in our next post!

Sixth week

Hello, everyone!

In this new post we're going to explain how the groups are doing with their projects:

Group 2: They were thinking which questions could they ask on their survey.

Group 4: They were searching for information to know how does a Solar Electric car work.

Group 5: They looked for information about the bicycles map of Barcelona. They wrote what does it cost to rent a bicycle (an electric and a normal one) and they also looked for a map of Sant Quirze to draw an itinerary of the bicycle rout they could do.

Group 6: They decided that they wanted to do the same project (How much energy do we waste in one day) but only about transport.

Group 7: They were analysing a solar car to see if they could use it to do their project or they would have to search for another one. They realized the energy that the solar car produces is alternative, but the battery they need is unalternative, so they needed to keep working on it.

Group 10: They were searching how an eco-car works and ideas to promote it.

Group 11: They were looking for the garbage truck itinerary.

Group 13: They were searching for the price of the different kind of transports and making a comparison.

Groups 1, 3, 8, 9, 12, 14 and 15 didn't finish the motivation letter so they were trying to do it.

Our winter holidays are coming soon, so the next days we won't be able to post. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

See you when we come back to the routine!

Last three weeks

Hello, everyone!

We went all these Fridays to ask what people has been doing, we’ve found out that they are searching a lot of information, we were surprised because they are very implicated and patient and try to do their best.
They’re searching for new ideas because they need to know exactly what they want to do, like know how to create a car that goes with solar energy or know how to create a business plan.
Last week we all draw the logo, too. They were all very artistic and everyone was motivated to do the best one.
In the next weeks we decided which one we liked the most and we are eager to know which logo is the most voted.
